Our Mission
The Music Club's mission is to promote good music at an affordable price and facilitate the advancement of music within the Shire, whilst providing opportunity for members and their friends to share their love for this art.
Our Activities
Five Concerts are hosted annually, in addition to a Heritage Festival Concert and the Annual Youth Music Awards. .
A Seniors Concert is organised by the Club in association with Heritage Week. Invitations are sent to Seniors organisations throughout the Shire inviting their members and associates to attend this event.
Youth Music Awards
One of the Club's major activities is the staging of the Sutherland Shire and St. George Youth Music Awards where talented young instrumentalists and singers aged between 13 and 18 compete for a range of cash prizes. As part of the Youth Music Awards there is also a Young Composers Competition which has encouraged the creation of some very innovative pieces of music.
After the heats, a Finals Concert is held where experienced Adjudicators select the winners. Strong support for this is provided by Sutherland Shire Council, local music teachers and well known identities in the field of music.
Our Committee
Our Committee is comprised of volunteers who are elected annually to ensure that the aims of the Club are achieved.
